The gibibit is a multiple of the bit, a unit of information, prefixed by the standards-based multiplier gibi (symbol Gi), a binary prefix meaning 230.[1][2] The unit symbol of the gibibit is Gibit or Gib.

1 gibibit = 230bits = 1073741824bits = 1,024 mebibits[3]

The gibibit is closely related to the gigabit, the corresponding unit using the metric prefix giga, which is 109 bits.
