Poor choice of colors edit

The colors are pretty, but they seem to have little basis in choice. To my eyes/mind, they are strongly counter-intuitive (not just not intuitive), making it impossible for me to "read" the map: I have to look at the key and back at the map individually for each color, remembering the value. A good map would have marking that would "directly" reflect the direction of the differences between each step, all going in one direction (e.g., saturation or white to black).Kdammers (talk) 00:37, 26 June 2011 (UTC) -correct, and it is standard in cartography that smallest value is represented by the brightest shade of chosen colour and highest is darkest.
