i feel this image may undertone superiority to the non-jewish side of the debate..am i alone here?--Marecheth Ho'eElohuth (talk) 15:58, 29 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Indented line I honestly don't see why .... I'm not an expert on symbolism in Medieval art work, but as I understand it, the pointing gestures being made by the two scholars on the left and right of the image signify that these individuals are speaking, and the open-handed gesture being made by the fellow in the center signifies that this person is listening. As I interpret the image, the Jewish scholar and the Christian scholar on the far edges of the image are both making arguments to each other and the fellows in the background are listening. I'm not sure why you would necessarily impute superiority to one side over the other.... Fosterdulles (talk) 01:48, 15 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
simply because the folks on the left are all looking up whilst the Jews on the right are portrayed as uncertain in their response as they need to "look it up" with their eyes down. Indeed, I feel the image is biased.--Marecheth Ho'eElohuth (talk) 01:10, 18 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
