Album cover edit

@Chasewc91, Livelikemusic, IPadPerson, SNUGGUMS, and The Cross Bearer: Although Wikipedia doesn't clearly state that album covers uploaded should not have the Parental Advisory sticker in the image, I know most editors upload images without the PA sticker in following loosely to WP:NOT CENSORED. The album cover has more than likely been photoshopped with the upper right corner of the explicit version of the album cover copied and pasted onto the clean version of the album cover. The link on the file page says the image was found on the iTunes Store, which I cannot find on any iTunes Store. Epic Records' website under releases shows the album cover with smoke and the parental advisory sticker on it, the same as iTunes, Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Sanity, JB Hi-Fi, HMV (under music downloads), etc. So why not show the original album cover? Or since they don't vary too much, using the clean version album cover (WP:CENSOR 2006) instead? ilovechristianmusic (Tell Me Something!) 23:39, 14 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

It's best to include the main album cover, which would include the Parental Advisory label. I'll go ahead and upload it. Chase (talk | contributions) 23:40, 14 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
And I'm pretty sure I already mentioned this point in June, when Livelikemusic reverted my upload... unless they would care to explain. Chase (talk | contributions) 23:42, 14 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
No change in the album cover? Maybe it's just my device, but it looks identical to the last. ilovechristianmusic (Tell Me Something!) 23:48, 14 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Clear your cache. Also, Livelikemusic should be aware that verifiability is important. I see multiple claims in past uploads and on the album article's talk page that the untagged, uncensored cover came "directly from Epic Records" - where is a link to this? If this can't be verified then we need to use a cover that can be. Note that the FUR source is the iTunes Store. Chase (talk | contributions) 23:50, 14 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
I see it now. I linked up above to Epic's website, and it is the explicit album cover. ilovechristianmusic (Tell Me Something!) 23:55, 14 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

The fact you guys had this discussion without me present, and deem as a "consensus" or a final discussion is kind of against Wikipedia. Anyway, when the album cover was on Epic's press site, it was WITHOUT THE LABEL. I did NOT edit it out. I have the original file if you do wish to see it. The Epic press site is offline, and when it was last online, Cher was removed. To make an accusation is wrong and kind of insulting. In fact the filename, ripped from Epic's press, is CL_SorryImLate_Explicit_5x5_noPA Glossy Photo_0. It was uploaded without a Parent sticker. As such, the non-tagged cover should remain until a more formal decision and discussion is had, per the site's policy on consensus. I have zero reason to lie, to regardless of that, it's not assuming good faith to make accusations against someone continuously. This was the URL, however, like I've stated, the Epic's press site has been taken offline. And this is what would've been the URL for the image, but again, the press site no longer exists, and was unaware of archiving back then, or I would have archived. livelikemusic my talk page! 00:29, 15 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

To be honest, I don't really have a preference on the matter. Snuggums (talk / edits) 00:37, 15 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

It should be used without the parental advisory emblem affixed to the cover, where we have another adequate cover without one.The Cross Bearer (talk) 00:57, 15 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Chasewc91, Livelikemusic, SNUGGUMS, and The Cross Bearer: I didn't know we reached a consensus, yet? I did ping you, but it appears you weren't online at the time being. I am sincerely sorry that I offended and insulted you. Definitely not my intentions, and DEFINITELY not my motive. I've been insulted many times on Wiki, and wouldn't want to inflict that on someone else. Again, I do apologize. I wasn't implying that you edited the album cover, but that you may have obtained an edited cover from an un-official website. Since Epic's press site is down, shouldn't the album cover used on Epic's website be the one used? Even though Lloyd split from Epic, Sorry I'm Late is still under their releases. (As referenced above) ilovechristianmusic (Tell Me Something!) 01:05, 15 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
No, I was not online. I was offline, at work. If I could get the page through Wayback Machine I would, but only the main page (Epicpublicity.com) is available. And I thought this would've been a nearly two-year issue, I would've attempted to make an archive of the page. livelikemusic my talk page! 01:20, 15 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

(←) Livelikemusic: No one is making accusations or accusing anyone of lying. Verifiability is a Wikipedia policy and the fact that you can't locate the webpage/file anymore is not a negative reflection on you. However, we need to have a cover that can be verified as being official per policy. The Cross Bearer: the reason several editors are pointing out that the tagged cover should be used is because the non-tagged version is censored (smoke removed). The music/albums WikiProject advises using artwork that is as true to the artist's intentions as possible; in most cases this means using a cover without the Parental Advisory tag. In this case, since the cover that doesn't have a PA tag is altered, it should be preferred to use the PA-tagged version. Chase (talk | contributions) 01:40, 15 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

You ARE accusing me by saying it is alternated, when it is not altered. I swear on my father's grave that it is not altered, and came from the URL's provided above. That is an accusation, and that is showing that it's not good faith in my part. livelikemusic my talk page! 01:42, 15 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
From WP:V - In Wikipedia, verifiability means that anyone using the encyclopedia can check that the information comes from a reliable source. This isn't a matter of whether or not you're telling the truth. The fact of the matter is that the image is not available at the source you specified anymore, nor is it archived. It can't be verified by other editors. As this image does not appear on any other reliable websites, it should not be used. Chase (talk | contributions) 01:55, 15 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Just to prove a point, I have the data from Epicpublicity.com, to show that's where the image came from, again, just to prove a point that I'm being accused of something I did not do (with my personal info blocked out, for privacy reasons). 1 livelikemusic my talk page! 02:03, 15 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

AND, Slovakia online retailer here showcases the explicit album cover without the explicit tag. Which while that it not a lot to go on, it is an online retailer that contains the untagged image. livelikemusic my talk page! 02:23, 15 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

I'm done responding to your victim rant, as I've explained numerous times why no one is attacking you, but the image from the Slovakian website is suitable. Chase (talk | contributions) 02:44, 15 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
I'm gonna drop this whole thing after this. LLM, first of all, thank you for finding another website for the album cover. Now the album cover is notable. No one was accusing you? I believe we were wanting to talk out the policy on the album cover, per case of WP:ARGUMENTSTOAVOID/FIXPAGE, "nothing is set in stone". WP:HARASSMENT may help, esp. under accusing others of harassment. Again, I apologize for your feeling accused, but no one was accusing you. Only trying to discuss this matter. ilovechristianmusic (Tell Me Something!) 15:58, 15 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Ilovechristianmusic: I would add Wikipedia is not censored to the parental advocacy movement, where this emblem on her music on an encyclopedia could deem it as being unsavory and revolting giving it a tremendously bad negative connotation. The Cross Bearer (talk) 23:27, 15 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
@The Cross Bearer: Call me dense, but is the Parental Advocacy Movement an article on Wiki that I could add that Sorry I'm Late has the Parental Advisory emblem on it? (And/or the Warning Content label as issued by ARIA) ilovechristianmusic (Tell Me Something!) 00:52, 16 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Ilovechristianmusic: Do as you wish, and see if other editors agree with your so-called density of thought, with regards to the parental advisory? The Cross Bearer (talk) 06:20, 16 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

@The Cross Bearer: I don't think we understood each other the first time. Let me try explaining what I understood from what you previously stated. You were just making a remark that Wikipedia is not censored (with regards to the Parental Advocacy movement) in regards to the album being explicit? [Note to my previous comment: When I first read this, I thought you meant I should add Wikipedia is not censored to a page on Wiki titled the "Parental Advocacy movement".] Are we on the same page now? Sorry for my misunderstanding. ilovechristianmusic (Tell Me Something!) 21:06, 16 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Ilovechristianmusic: This is even more an issue of DUE and UNDUE, where the usage of the emblem on the cover art could easily be construed as FRINGE, and unacceptable to use with regards to the cover artwork. You are more than obliged to say in the text, the album has been issued with a parental advisory warning, in the text. The Cross Bearer (talk) 22:32, 16 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
