Xinjiang

This map has major deficiencies. Prior to Islam, Xinjiang was full of Buddhist kingdoms who had more in common with Theravada than Mahayana (they were actually Sarvastivada, if I recall correctly. The Sino-Centric perspective that Xinjiang and Central Asia were only conduits for Buddhism to China is extremely outdated. prat (talk) 04:52, 4 November 2017 (UTC)

Nanzhao and Pala

There is good documentation supporting the link between Nanzhao (Dali, Yunnan, China) and Bangladesh (Pala kingdom). Both were centers of Buddhism. Neither are marked on this map. prat (talk) 23:24, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
