A small detail edit

Is the illustration of the male correct?

D. R. Johnson, Centre for Human Biology, Leeds University, had this to say:

The other small problem, the penis, is described in it's [sic] erect position, so that its dorsal surface faces anteriorly and superiorly when detumescent.[1]

Surely this implies that the penis should be shown erect rather than flaccid?

Yes, this is a serious question. yoyo (talk) 14:38, 17 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

I'm about to mention this question on the talk page for Anatomical terminology. yoyo (talk) 14:50, 17 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
Dorsal side of the penis arguably originated, from the more obvious orientation in quadrepedal males, even when detumescent. Switching the orientation just for homo would be confusing.Klbrain (talk) 11:31, 19 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
