Summary

Description
English: The wooden plaque to the "Inklings" in the back bar of the pub Eagle and Child. Looking at the plaque is a Ann-Sophie Qvarnström, a Swedish member of The Tolkien Society. Photo taken during the 1979 tenth anniversary Oxonmoot in Oxford, England, United Kingdom. (My camera handed to a friend who took the photo per instructions. Before we had selfie sticks, we had friends.) Photo is scanned from a film negative.

The plaque says: "C.S. LEWIS, his brother, W.H. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Charles Williams and other friends met every Tuesday morning, between the years 1939-1962 in the back room of this their favourite pub. These men, popularly known as the "Inklings", met here to drink Beer and to discuss, among other things, the books they were writing.
