Summary

Description
English: A photo of W.B. Charlton taken in 1907, when giving evidence before a Royal Commission on mining and used later in the book.

John Charlton (the subject's great grandson) scanned this image on March 10, 2018 from the Foreward of the book "A Fifty Years' History of the Durham County Colliery Enginemen's, Boiler-Minders' and Firemen's Association" written by the subject of the image, W.B. Charlton.

"I applied some mild post processing to the image on August 5, 2022 including cropping a bit off the top of original image, basic levels adjustment and removing some dust and scratches in the background particularly right above his head."
