Granite Admiralty Marker - The British admiralty, in an effort to preserve the woods on its banks for possible used by the British Navy, had granite markers placed along its boundaries to mark the property. The markers, with anchors carved into the stone, indicating that the land belonged to the Admiralty, were placed at four locations. One was located on George Street, one off Argyle Street, not far from the present bandshell, another, now lost, at King's Road and Byng Avenue, and this one at the corner of present Crescent Street and King's Road.
