Description
English: A gauge monitors the Von Guerard Stream, a glacial meltwater stream in the McMurdo Dry Valleys, the largest ice-free area in Antarctica. The Dry Valleys are the site of various research projects, including a long-term, multi-disciplinary program funded by the National Science Foundation that studies the interconnections between the soils, lakes, glaciers, biology, hydrology and climate.
