English: Inflict devastating losses on the enemy: the story of the Hero of Ukraine Vitaliy Hrytsaenko

Among the dead defenders of Mariupol is the deputy commander of a special detachment "Azov" for combat and special training, senior lieutenant Vitaliy Hrytsayenko, nicknamed "Gogol", who volunteered for the unit in the first years of the then undeclared Russian-Ukrainian war.

On the night of March 18-19, a group of Azov servicemen, which included senior lieutenant Hrytsayenko, carried out a successful raid on the enemy's rear.

As a result, our fighters destroyed the enemy command post, blew up one rear depot and one ammunition depot. Also, our soldiers destroyed 1 tank, 2 armored personnel carriers and about a platoon of enemy manpower, mostly officers.

Unfortunately, the price of this brilliant operation was the life of a brave officer. He was severely wounded in a fierce battle and died.
