Description
English: Upper Fort Garry at The Forks was built in 1835 at the heart of the Red River Colony to serve as the commercial HQ of Hudson's Bay Company. It succeeded Lower Fort Garry in Selkirk in this role. The Gate is the last major vestige of this historic structure.
