Summary

Description
English: USS Texas (BB-35) required extensive restoration to replace internal steel that rusted away, requiring the removal of Torpedo Blisters added in the 1926 major modification. Originally built the beam (width) was 95 ft 2.5 in (29.020 m), with torpedo blister this increased to 106 ft 0 in (32.31 m). In this photo the starboard side was almost entirely removed revealing the original slab sided and narrower hull, while the port side has the blister in place, showing a rounder, more robust profile. The start of the torpedo blister is easily seen by the curved lines of vertical metal, like 2 parenthesis " ) ( ". At bottom of image is some of the plates from removed blister.
