    USCGC HALIBUT (WPB 87340) was built at Bollinger Shipyards in Lockport, Louisiana and was commissioned on April 26, 2002 in Marina Del Rey, California. HALIBUT replaced USCGC POINT BRIDGE (WPB 82338), an 82 foot patrol boat that had been stationed in Marina Del Rey since 1964. HALIBUT is a member of the Marine Protector Class. The unit's primary missions are Search & Rescue, Maritime Law Enforcement, and Homeland Security. Secondary missions include Marine Environmental Protection and Public Affairs.
