English: Fold-out engraved map from Thomas James's voyage account book, showing the route of his 1631-1632 sea expedition from England in search of a Northwest passage through Hudson Strait, exploring Hudson Bay and overwintering in James Bay, which is also shown on a larger scale inset map. The map is decorated with a cartouche, a compass rose, an image of a sailing ship and an inset oval portrait of the author.
