Description
English: The Piraeus Apollo. Archaic cult statue, one of the few bronze examples preserved. The god held a bow in his left hand and a libation bowl in his right hand. The statue is dated either to the early 5th century or, as others think, to 530 - 520 B.C. Accession number: 4645. Archaeological Museum of Piraeus, Piraeus, Greece. Text: Museum inscription.
