English: The Church of St Botolph, Boston The church with its 272 ft high tower, is one of Englands largest and most beautiful medieval churches. Also known as "The Stump", the church is undergoing more restoration work. This year sees 700 years of history (1309-2009) of the church, which is to be marked by a celebration.
See http://www.parish-of-boston.org.uk/anniversary.htm for an overview of the special events, which start on February 8th and go on until December 10th. The '700 Years of History' Exhibition will be launched on April 27th.
The statue is of Herbert Ingram, who was born on 27th May 1811 in Boston. He was the founder of The Illustrated London News in 1842.
