Description
English: Six tube antique Tuned Radio Frequency receiver from the early 1920s, showing tube layout. Before the superheterodyne receiver, radios did most of the amplification of the signal at the radio frequency. The low gain of early vacuum tubes at radio frequencies required many tubes to achieve adequate volume.
