Description
English: Blocks of Tarkio Limestone member of Zeandale Limestone Formation slumped down the slope of Willard Shale. At Pillsbury Crossing, Riley County, Kansas. These blocks have been setting on the Elmont ledge for over a century. Note the brown to red coloration. Typically, local limestone shows red weathering only after exposure to fire, but red is a normal weathering color for Tarkio Limestone.
