A ceremonial memorial was held at Sibolga airport, West Sumatra, on 4 April 2005 with the Indonesian National Defence Force providing a full military detail to honour the lives lost in the Australian helicopter crash in Nias. An Australian C-130J Hercules received the bodies of the Defence Force personnel to be flown back to Australia.
