Description Hand-tinted postcard dated 1910-1914, titled "Rough Sea, Herne Bay". As this photo is showing land apparently being eroded by the sea, and as Hampton-on-Sea was the only part of Herne Bay suffering this type of sea-erosion at the time, it could possibly be a picture of Hampton-on-Sea. It was printed in Saxony, and German-printed postcards were unlikely to be sold or used after 1914. The photograph is glossy, and glossy postcards were more unusual before 1910. However it should be stressed that the exact location and date are unknown.
