Summary

Description
English: Illustration for Mrs. T. H. Smith's Schippeitaro (1888) by Suzuki Sōsaburo (Suzuki Kason). The book is unpaginated, and this illustration occurs below the text that reads: "The brave Schippeitaro sprang upon him", i.e., the "huge black tom cat" after the cat "opens the door of the cage", even though the illustration clearly show that the lid was lifted from a wicker box (tsuzura).
