English: Sagara, a Vedic King and ancestor of Rama. Sagara is shown seated on a throne with a bolser at his back and a small umbrella above his head. He wears a large blue turban and a long white tunic with a green sash. He has one knee raised and wears jewellery on his ears, arms and neck. He rests his left hand on his thigh and holds a small flower. He raises his right hand in which another flower is held. The throne is shown on a terrace decorated with scrolling patterns. Behind Sagara is an archway through which can be seen another entrance and decorated textiles. The painting is surrounded by a black border.
