Description
English: Nui Dat, South Vietnam. May 1971. At the end of twelve months of operational service in South Vietnam by the 2RAR /NZ (ANZAC) (The ANZAC Battalion comprising 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment and a component from the 1st Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment), the Commander, 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF), Brigadier B. A. McDonald, comes to attention in tribute to the unit's good record in the war zone. Seconds earlier he unveiled the plaque on the RAR Monument at Nui Dat before a battalion parade. The plaque commemorates 2RAR's war service between May 1970 and May 1971.
