Description

The image shows the condolence procession in Silchar on 20 May 1961 in memory of the deceased language martyrs. Men, women and children spontaneously take part in the procession in spite of curfew. The procession is led by Mahitosh Purakayastha, Prabhas Sen Majumdar, Santosh Mohan Dev, Tarapada Bhattacharya among others.
