Summary

Description
English: Police Land Rover, Belfast A Land Rover Tangi of the Police Service of Northern Ireland parked just off the Queen's Road near the Abercorn Basin. This is the last in a line of armoured vehicles used by the Police in Northern Ireland. They were common during the years of the 'Troubles' but most have now been decommissioned and it is more common for the police to use traditional vehicles in line with other forces in the UK & Ireland. All of the vehicles are now painted in white with the yellow and blue 'battenburg' markings rather than the infamous battleship grey. In the local vernacular the police land rover is often called a 'meat wagon' or even as a 'Newry ice-cream van'.
