Description
Nederlands: Plaquette van de mijnenveger Hr.Ms. Breskens. ex-USS AMS 148. De plaquette is te zien in het Marinemuseum (Den Helder). Via het Mutual Defense Assistance Program werden grote aantallen mijnenvegers aangeschaft, deze werden gefinancierd door de Amerikanen. De Breskens was een van de veertien schepen van de Beemster-klasse, deze werden allemaal op Amerikaanse werven gebouwd.
  • Gebouwd door George W. Kneass Co. te San Fransisco, Ca.
  • Op stapel gezet 29 april 1952.
  • Te water gelaten 11 april 1953.
  • In gebruik van 21 april 1954 te San Fransisco tot 1 juli 1976.
  • Naamsein M 855 ex - AMS 148.
