Summary

Description
English: More pictures and videos are at TempleVideos.com and ChurchOfJesusChristVideos.com The Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple was built on a bluff on the edge of the Daybreak Community; the property was donated to the church by Kennecott Land, a portion of a company that mines copper and precious minerals from the Oquirrh Mountains, just a few miles west of the temple. The edifice features a single stone spire 193 feet high, topped by a 9-foot statue of the angel Moroni. The ground was broken for construction on December 16, 2006. At the groundbreaking it was announced the structure would be named the "Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple"; it had previously been known as the "South Jordan Utah Temple". The temple was the fourth in the Salt Lake Valley and the 13th in the state of Utah. The temple site has eleven acres. The exterior finish is light beige granite from China. The architecture features a single attached end spire with an angel Moroni statue. The Temple has Ordinance Rooms, four instruction rooms (two-stage progressive), seven sealing rooms, and one baptistry. The total square footage of the temple is 60,000 square feet. The address of the temple is 11022 4000 W, South Jordan, UT 84009. The public is welcome to walk the temple grounds and feel the peace inspired by this heavenly structure.
