Summary

Description

Wrightbus opportunity charging SRM bus which reduces use of the diesel engine by opportunity charging its batteries at the route terminus.

The SRM buses are part of the New Bus For London / New Routemaster family of buses but are only 10.6m long and feature a more traditional (for London) "twin door + single staircase" format.

Another difference is that whilst the body style is NBFL / NRM the opportunity charging variant SRM uses the Volvo B5LHC chassis and a specially tweaked version of the Euro6 parallel style diesel hybrid propulsion that also allows travel in virtual electric mode.

A very rare bus - only two of these were ever built!
