English: A Moviola Model D film editing machine (1927), with a Gaertner Scientific Corporation Microscope Attachment (1940) attached (left). Exhibit at the Museum of the Moving Image (MOMI) in New York City. As explained on the museum's label, "To facilitate the close examination of film on the Moviola, the U.S. Army Signal Corps added a microscope attachment to the standard tabletop 'director's model' during World War II."
