Description On July 14, 2006 at 10:25, a fireball lit up the sky over Moss and Rygge in southern Norway. The fireball was followed by rumbling sounds and an explosion. Afterwards a meteorite was heard hitting a piece of sheet metal. The meteorite recovered from this event was a relatively rare CO3.5/3.6 carbonaceous chondrite and it was named Moss. Despite extensive searches, only 5 stones were found with a total combined weight of 3.76 kgs. This beautiful partial slice has crust along one edge. 0.588 g.
