This is a Monument to Scottish Immigrants. The Monument is on a granite base 4' High, 6' long by 6' deep. It was designed by Sculptor Terry Jones. It depicts a Scottish Family led by the Patriarch of the Family with his Wife, three children and faithful Scottish deerhound dog. The Port of Philadelphia was the Principal Gateway for Scottish Immigrants in the 1600s and 1700s. The location is very near the site of the Tun Tavern, which was the place at which the St. Andrew's Society was founded in 1747. Past Members of the Society include Original Supreme Court Justice James Wilson, Rev. John Witherspoon, Philip Livingston, Thomas McKean and George Ross (Uncle to Betsy Ross). The Location is South of the Irish Immigration Monument. It is between South Front Street and Interstate 95 (West to East) and between Chestnut Street and Sansom Street (North to South) This is the Olde City Section of Center City Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.
