Ryan McCarthy, Secretary of the Army, Testimony before Congress,[1] January 2020. In Multi-domain operations (MDO), a Multi-domain task force (MDTF) is an experimental brigade-sized formation. The combatant commanders have requested several MDTFs for their Areas of responsibility (AoRs). In an MDTF,
A LRPF battalion is capable of Strategic fires ranging over 1000 miles, which would materially project power from land, independently of Air or Maritime forces.
A Logistics support battalion would ensure the supply of ammunition, fuel, food, water, medical support and other necessities for independent operation.
An I2CEWS (pronounced eye-2-cues) battalion would provide military intelligence, cyber and electronic warface, space (satellite) communications, and network capabilities to the MDTF.
An infantry battalion would provide force protection and other close-combat capabilities
A company with Gray Eagles or other UAVs would provide reconnaisance capabilities
