Summary

Description
English: London Transport bus T664 (reg. NUW 664Y), a 1982 Leyland Titan (B15), pictured at the terminus of London Buses route 97 at Chingford railway station, about to start a new journey to Leyton Downsell Road. At this time, route 97 required 10 Titans on a weekday, operating out of Walthamstow garage (code WW).

The 714th production Titan, it's from the later batch built at Leyland's expanded factory in the Lillyhall Industrial Estate in Workington (earlier ones were built by British Leyland subsidiary Park Royal Vehicles in Park Royal, London). As with the vast majority of production, it was delivered new to London Transport as part of the dual-door T-class, allocated fleet number T664.

It's looking relatively new here as it's just re-entered service following an overhaul at Aldenham Works (even though it had only entered service in December 1982).

As part of the privatisation process it passed into the fleet of Stagecoach East London in 1994.

In May 1998 it was transferred within Stagecoach to the group's Welsh operations Stagecoach Red & White, who converted it to a single-door bus and renumbered it 813. It didn't stay long, being transferred again to Cleveland based Stagecoach Transit, who renumbered it 278.

By 2004 it had been sold to dealers & breakers PVS of Carlton, and appears to have been scrapped.
