Description

Capt. Lippincott is pictured here on the right, being decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross by Admiral Nimitz at Hickam Field on January 1, 1943 Following the success of the surprise bombing attack on Wake Island on December of 1942.

Source

This is a photo from Elwood's personal collection, and the prints are in his family's possession. This photo does not have any reference to who took them, or any other sort of identifying catalog numbers. It has been attempted in good faith to identify the source of this image, but thus far matching this with an indexed photo has proven unsuccessful.
