English: Each of the points making up the Pyramidal cell shape represents one synapse. When the cell type of the incoming synapse is known to be from one of the cortical layers within the same cubic millimeter specimen, the synapses are color coded: Layer II/III (green), Layer IV (purple), Layer V (red), Layer VI (yellow)
