Summary

Description The Minto family occupied Rideau Hall at the turn of the 19th to 20th centuries. Lord Minto, the Governor General and Lady Minto contributed greatly to the social life of the Canadian capital, Ottawa. They loved winter sports and held skating parties on the Ottawa River. Lady Minto founded the Minto Skating Club in Ottawa, still going more than a century later.
