Summary
| Description | Alexander Calder's La Grande Vitesse sits in aptly named Calder Plaza. The plaza is bordered by City Hall, Kent County Building, and the Federal Courthouse. The name of the sculpture is french for "The Great Swiftness" which can also be translated Grand Rapids. Part of an urban renewal effort, the sculpture was dedicated in 1969 and became the symbol of the city. |
