Summary edit

This ink brush painting of Bodhidarma hangs inside the home of a retired Berkeley high school teacher Karl Anderson. The artist Jung-Kwang was staying with the family of a Berkeley high school student, and the student arranged for a demonstration in his art class.

On the day of the demonstration, students pushed some tables together. Jung-Kwang prepared ink and unrolled paper on the tables. Then he excused himself for a smoke break. Upon his return, he mounted the tables, and with a few quick bold brush strokes completed the painting in a matter of seconds. Three painting were created during the demonstration, and one of them was given to the teacher.
