Description
English: Khitan stele. Called the "Buleenii Ovoonii Kidan Ikh Bichigt Khoshoo" (Bulegen-u Obugan-u Kidan Yeke Bichig-tu Koshuge). Written in Khitan large script. Date 1058 (1st day of the 8th month of the 4th year of Pure Peace or "Qingning" - 1st reign era of Emperor Daozong of Liao/Yelu Hongji). Discovered August 2010 in Erdene sum of Dornogovi Province, south-eastern Mongolia. Joint Japanese-Mongolian effort. 7 lines 150 characters. Kept in National Museum of Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

8 letter Chinese equivalent of the first 9 letters of the 1st line (宁 is two letters in Khitan large script): Chinese: 清宁四年八月一日. Khitan original: Au as-ar dur pon nyo sair oms nair. (Note: Para-Mongolic numbers were borrowed into Jurchen-Manchu 'teens': omshon 11, jirhon 12, gorhon 13, durhon 14, tobuhon 15, nilhon 16, dalhon 17, nyohon 18, onyohon 19) Mongolian equivalent: Ariun amgalan duruv on naim sar onts nar. English: Pure peace four year eight month one sun. (On the 1st day of the 8th month of the fourth year of Qingning).
