Summary

Description
English: The first detection of 'Tau' meson decay, in Nuclear Emulsion in 1949. The distinctive appearance of the image led to renaming of the Tau-meson as the K-meson. The positively charged Tau/K-meson enters at the top of the image and decays into a pi- meson (a) and two pi+ mesons (b and c). The pi- meson interacts with a nucleus in the emulsion at B.
