No authorship is signified for this photograph though others in the same book have authors ascribed to them. The photograph is in the public domain because: 1. The work was created and first published [in 1904] before January 1, 1923, or at least 95 years before January 1 of the current year, whichever is later; 3. [To the best of my knowledge,] No Berne Convention signatory has passed a perpetual copyright on the work; and 4. [To the best of my knowledge,] Neither the United States nor the European Union has passed a copyright term extension since these conditions were last updated. Portion of this same image has been reproduced as the front softcover illustration of the book Pity the Swagman by Bethan Phillips (publ. Cymdeithas Lefrau Ceredigion Ltd, 2002) which acknowledges Miss Frances Evans of Tregaron (an elderly great-granddaughter of the subject) as the source of an original photographer's print used for that purpose. I am a historian of the Jenkins family of which I am a member, and am related and known as such to the same Miss Frances Evans. The present scan was made by myself, Brian Jenkins, from my own copy of Cerddi Cerngoch.
