DescriptionHrisoscoleu (Hrisoscoleo) family coat of arms.svg
English: Coat of arms of the Wallachian boyars Hrisoscoleu (Hrisoscoleo), based on depiction in Emanuel Hagi-Mosco, Steme boerești din România, Bucharest: Socec, 1918. Heraldist Tudor-Radu Tiron notes that these are ultimately based on the arms used by Zoe Hrisoscoleu in 1850, which are obscure, possibly invented around that time, and which were not used by Grigorie Buzoianu Hrisoscoleu in his arms of 1833; the icon of Saint George is a likely allusion to the Sacred Constantinian Order (see: "Un sceau inconnu de Jean Georges Caradja, prince de Valachie (1812-1818). Sur l'héraldique des princes Caradja aux XIXe – XXe siècles", in Revue Roumaine d'Histoire, Vols. XL–XLI, 2001–2002, p. 129).
