5 years ago, on Tuesday 28th June 2011, I created the 'NZ Car Freak' Flickr account. In that time I've uploaded 3,325 photos and there are still many more to come. To celebrate this anniversary, here is my absolute best find from my trip to Hawaii in April. It is an early 1970s Toyota Corona Mark II estate. These slightly enlarged and more luxurious Coronas were reasonably popular on the US market at this time due to rising fuel costs amongst other 70s concerns. Until I saw this I had never seen another Mark II like this. It was simply parked in front of a garage in suburban Honolulu and I was utterly astonished to see it. It looked to be in exceptionally tidy condition. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of the NZ Car Freak Flickr journey. I love documenting interesting vehicles and sharing them on this platform even more. |
