English: Tennessee Historical Commission marker in Greeneville, Tennessee, United States, recalling the "Greeneville Union Convention," or the Greeneville session of the East Tennessee Convention, which took place in the city on the eve of the U.S. Civil War in June 1861. This convention attempted to form a separate state in East Tennessee that would have remained in the Union.
