Summary

Description
English: Glaucochroite
Locality: Franklin Mine, Franklin, Franklin Mining District, Sussex County, New Jersey, USA
Description: Glaucohroite with anhedral green willemite and black franklinite.
In daylight (or under CFL) most of the glaucochroite looks milky to bright blue with some pink areas. Under tungsten the blue is less evident and the pink is enhanced. It looks even pinker (even to the eye) if a dark background is used - see the child photo. However, unlike some glaucochroite specimens where the pink is actually hardystonite, there appears to be no hardystonite here (there is very little if any blue fluorescence). Updated with a full res image Dec 2012. But it needs a redo under CFL or daylight to show the "true" color. Via Frank Edwards. MOB coll.
