Summary

Description
English: Looking east along Ganton Close: a recent build in Woodhouse, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The Ganton Close houses to the right are on the site of the roadway of Ganton Mount, the street where the author Will Scott (William Matthew Scott, 1893-1964) lived in 1911. The roadway of Ganton Mount is on the site of the north-side houses of the Victorian Ganton Mount back-to-backs. Further east along Ganton Mount the houses were bigger, and Will Scott, who lived in an 8-room house, may have lived where lawn can now be seen in the centre of the picture. Ganton Mount was demolished in the slum clearances of the early 1960s.
