Note:
  • Foreign born numbers from 1851 to 1951 are for the County of London (which constitutes what makes up the Statutory definition of Inner London), so a marked increase after 1951 is to be expected.
  • A small degree of data (1-2% roughly, 17 out of a total of 765 data slots were not avaliable to count) is unavaliable for 1961 for foreign born residents which may have impacted the shown percentage to be undercounted to a degree, please defer to NOMIS's 1961 Census User Guide for more information.
  • Foreign born in London excludes those that were born in Ireland, for which the entirety was under the UK in-till 1922 (applicable in this case from 1851 to 1921). A large degree of the foreign born residents within London were of Irish origin, hence why the figure is smaller then what it would be if they would be included. The total percentage of Irish born residents from 1851 to 1921 are (courtesy of Eric Kaufmann);
