Apstiprināts ar Burtnieku novada pašvaldības domes 2015.gada 28.janvāra sēdes lēmumu.
Burtnieku novada karoga apraksts
Burtnieku novada karogs ir taisnstūra audums ar platuma un augstuma attiecību 2:1, karogs ir divpusējs, uz tā ir attēlota Burtnieku novada ģerboņa simbolika: zilā laukā viļņota sudraba sija trīsdalījumā, tai pāri sēdošs zelta burtnieks ar kokli klēpī.
Karogs izgatavojams šādos lielumos 200 cm × 100 cm.
