English: A fractional horsepower motor is an electric motor that is designed to provide a relatively small amount of power. The power output of these motors is typically less than one horsepower (hp), which is the unit of measurement for power in the United States. In fact, most FHP motors have a power output that ranges from 1/20 to 1/2 horsepower. These motors are often used in applications where a larger motor would be overkill, or where space is at a premium. |
